During the development of the New Matter store, it was essential to include a feature that allowed users and designers to preview uploaded or store-bought designs. To fulfill this need, the 3D viewer was developed as an integral part of the store. It allowed users to preview 3D files before purchasing or sending them for printing. The 3D viewer was designed to cater to both experienced 3D printing users and beginners. It included a comprehensive user tutorial, making it easy to use and understand. Additionally, it offered advanced features such as the ability to adjust the size and preview objects in various colors before printing.
To ensure that the 3D viewer was responsive and accessible across all devices, a 3D web developer worked alongside the team to integrate it throughout the store. This allowed users to preview design files, upload files, and make basic edits on any device with ease.

The viewer necessitated a user-friendly interface and essential functionality, catering to the needs of both our Creators and Customers. It was imperative for the viewer to offer basic editing capabilities, enabling Creators to make effortless modifications. Similarly, for Customers, it was essential to provide options for adjusting designs to suit their printer specifications, as well as previewing the appearance at various sizes or color variations.
For Users that are new to the 3d space. This tutorial aimed to help assist Users through how to navigate and understand the 3d environment.
Upon launching the viewer, we observed a notable frequency of usage among both new and existing Users. While more advanced Users still favored their own sophisticated 3D software, they appreciated the convenience of being able to swiftly make minor adjustments online, eliminating the need for time-consuming reuploads of new files. The viewer served as a valuable tool for streamlining the process and reducing the time investment required for these modifications.
